I'd say his inability to change things mid match is a lack of variety in the squad

Clearly there are other issues, but with better recruitment and better balance and variety in the squad we could have got over those. After all he had those issues (inability to change things) in the promotion season, he just had a squad with far greater options, upfront and out wide in particular.
