tbf hardly the epitome

We have spent four of the past six years in the top flight. There are a lot of teams with much richer owners (most of those clubs probably as big if not bigger than us) who haven't remotely achieved as much. We've generally outperformed more teams than we've underperformed.
They're probably about average, maybe slightly above (the quality of football club stewardship in this country is very low! ). But to keep a club of our size and resources at the top level long term requires way more than average, it requires something special. And they don't have it.
