yep, plus you can't overlook the fact the players are told from all directions

their manager, the clubs PR, the media etc that they are "quality" and "premier league in all but name" hence you get them trying to do it all themselves eg Brady hemming upfield at the drop of a hat trying to score, Tettey banging forward to club one into row z, Klose (and Bassong loves to do this too) ripping up to the centrecircle with the ball, to prove how much he wants to sort things out himself, then losing the ball after trying to Zidane/360/Roulette wheel it (whatever the move is called, its spin the analouge controller on Pro Evo) and letting their man clean in on goals.

Nobody is prepared to sacrifice their game for the team. Josh Murphy has never shown any interest in tracking back properly. He came on as sub in Alex Neils first game at Carrow Road (that mad 5-3 vs Cardiff) and basically walked around when we were out of possession, and 2 years on clearly is in the same mindstate.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the Lambert model of signing characters with ability second was clearly the way for a club of our size and means to go. Pilks, Croft, Tierney, Morison, Eliott Ward etc, all fairly limited to some extent, but all solid grafters who always gave 100% to following team orders. Even when Lambert had Ward as some kind of libero for a couple of games the lad did it, even though it made him look like a mentalist.
