Good cheap solution. Not seen fire but I can imagine remote is handier. Personally I use

Apple TV which is fab but most of it can be achieved with chromecast or fire, both of which are cheaper.

The reason I got the Apple TV over chromecast was for the remote. Fire didn't exist back then. But I also heard of some limitations from the fire as well (which I cannot remember right now).
