Not that I'm wishing to be mr negative. A new 18 month deal is hardly a massive commitment is it (effectively a 12 month extension)

Just gives the club a little more security to get a decent enough fee for him in the summer if we don't go up. Which is looking rather likely at the moment.

Better than nothing though I suppose.
