think we hit our glass ceiling that summer under Hughton

when we tried to sign Alderweireld, Ranocchia, Quagliarella, Toivonen etc... and none of them were interested to come to Norwich.

Board had a decision to make as to wether to radically adjust our pay structure to attract big names or to go with young and hungry. In the end, it kind of fell between two stools getting the likes of Elmander and has continued doing that ever since. Buying players like Naismith and Klose for fairly big money who are not really good enough to drive the club forward - rather than splashing really big on players to take us to the next level.

Was the same this summer, buying a few players for reasonably big money but who havent actually improved the squad. Should really go for young and hungry or properly splash out on one or two genuine stars.
