because they effectively have a captive audience.

The standing ovation after Watford did really wind me up though. Ditto at Fulham after that utter embarrassment. Its one thing giving it the defiant "we love you Norwich" chanting in the face of relegation but the reaction of our fans sometimes seems to go beyond that and I think makes failure too easy for all concerned.
