All this pontificating about not being prepared to sell the Club to foreign bidders would count for very little, I suspect, if a really huge offer was forthcoming. As I see it that has got to be our best hope in the short term.
I actually feel more despondent at the moment than I did when we were relegated to League One. At least we knew then that things could only get better whereas right now I don't think we are through the pain barrier just yet.
There are currently too many people involved at the top end of the Club who have lost their way. Delia and Michael seem to have their own hidden agenda, we have a Chairman with priorities lying elsewhere, a Chief Executive who has made negligible impact since his arrival and a manager with so many players at his disposal that he simply just does not know who to pick, where to play them or how to play them. He has become tactically unaware both on and off the pitch. Finally we have a bunch of players who appear to be accepting little or no responsibility for our current woes and who lack the motivation to try to improve things.
It is the manager's job to successfully manage all aspects of the team and it is the Board's job to make sure that he does just that. Right now we are carrying far too many passengers and I firmly believe that something has got to give and the sooner the better.
Rant over!!
