He did a wonderful job for 4 months and a mediocre job last season

Player recruitment is my biggest bug bear.

He inherited a very good squad which had a little bit of an issue in that we didn't have a quality ball playing midfielder able to spread play and stretch organised defences - this resulted in some disappointing results when teams parked the bus.

We haven't fixed this issue and in fact it's got worse.

Early in the season quite a few people said that this squad is stronger than our last championship squad, but I couldn't see that then and I definitely can't see it now.

If the board can't acknowledge that this could be the continuation of a longer term slide rather than a one off bad patch, then they definitely are complacent.

Ed Balls is right that football goes in peaks and troughs and a bad patch isn't a reason to sack a manager, but as above, is this just a minor bad patch?

I don't think so.
