Player recruitment is my biggest bug bear.
He inherited a very good squad which had a little bit of an issue in that we didn't have a quality ball playing midfielder able to spread play and stretch organised defences - this resulted in some disappointing results when teams parked the bus.
We haven't fixed this issue and in fact it's got worse.
Early in the season quite a few people said that this squad is stronger than our last championship squad, but I couldn't see that then and I definitely can't see it now.
If the board can't acknowledge that this could be the continuation of a longer term slide rather than a one off bad patch, then they definitely are complacent.
Ed Balls is right that football goes in peaks and troughs and a bad patch isn't a reason to sack a manager, but as above, is this just a minor bad patch?
I don't think so.
