without that money we will either have to slash our wages to a level that means we will be struggling to compete with several other similar sized clubs even at championship level (because they have rich owners now) or we will have to have a production line of talent we can sell each year to plug the gap between our income and wage bill.
The latter is possible I suppose with the right recruitment and if the academy succeeds and to give the club its due some of our acquisitions in the last 18 months (Godfrey, Aboue Adams, Madison) plus a few of the kids we have picked up from lower league or other academies means we seem to have a few more promising youngsters coming through than we have done for a while, even if they are not technically "home grown." I quite like the strategy of picking up such players because you only need one or two to come off and be worth big money and it buys you a season or two.
