How many times in the past 25 years? Ten times maybe? Has that helped? Do we have a better league position now then in 1993? Did all those managers succeed where their predecessors failed? Why aren't we in the champions league now if every manager is meant to do better than his predecessor?
Sooner or later we're going to have to accept that we are not entitled to success (whatever that is), we don't belong in the premier league, our players aren't world-beaters in disguise. We are where we are. Wanting to do better is commendable and essential. But we are not suddenly going to turn into Brazil if we appoint Roy Hodgson. Look at the hundreds of managers who are appointed on long contracts to much fanfare and then unceremoniously sacked a few months later when results don't improve. Villa for the last 5 years for example. Changing the manager is NOT always the right solution. Please consider this!!
