and that's why players get paid so much - because you have to perform under the pressure of the public gaze. If you play well you get adulation, if you play badly you get abuse. Players know the score. Going to football is more expensive than ever now, and most of that money goes into the players' pockets. Fans are inevitably going to express an opinion if they feel they are being short-changed
