One of my mates applied for an internal vacancy, got an interview, decided to go for it

and turned up wearing a suit (last time he had worn one was at my wedding, so was pretty obvious to all his colleagues), sat in the reception area waiting for an hour then finally called to find out what was happening.

They had already hired another colleague for the position and decided to to bother with my mate. But forgot to tell him.

He felt pretty humiliated. But for some reason is still at the same company doing the same job he's been doing for years.
