Jon Rogers is looking for something that has rarely happened in my experience

The idea of everyone singing and cheering is never going to happen, we all need to support in our own way. In the River End, despite the occasional abuse we get on message boards for being quiet, we do make a noise at appropriate moments though we tend not to sing. When riled by an incident (a dodgy decision, a heavy tackle), we can get quite boisterous.

What is happening now is that the Barclay and Snake Pit, full of people who like singing, are often silent. That's why there is no atmosphere - in this country it is usually created from one or two areas of any ground and mostly from younger people. In the past the Barclay would break into OTBC every time we concede a goal, on Saturday it was silent. That is not a criticism but a partial explanation. I don't know why they have stopped reacting in that way.
