regarding 4x4's

Is it ok for me to have a 4x4 as I need it for work. Ironically I'm an Environmental monitoring technician and I have to get to remote places to check others (landfill sites, quarrys and the like) aren't polluting the environment? If it helps I have a Freelander which has the lowest emisions of any decent off road vehicle.
