This has been trotted out before, but here we go again - a director of football, like Sout

hampton seems a more robust set-up. It obviously relies on getting good people, but then you've got one person wholly in charge of recruiting and developing players, and another who's just first-team coach. Building a squad is then not reliant on a coach taking time out to watch players and trying to fill short-term holes. Replacing a coach would be much less disruptive than replacing a manager in our current set-up
