Tettey and Dorrans in front of our defence have been average to say the least

Nothing excuses the fact that lack of effort desire and work rate was missing and some didn't look as though they give a s**t. Regardless of the lack skill, tactical awareness etc a player may have, giving everything you have is always expected and they're not giving it and that's at every level. You know that as a player who sometimes had to depend on it ;)
