"Rubbish, worst performance yet. To many lads gave up, simple as that. Keep being told that some of us are premier league players but counts for nothing if cant fight or win a battle,. Couldn't win any battles anywhere over the pitch.
First half ok but didn't have much but to capitulate like that is humiliating, players need to look at themselves.
Some words said there, and some more words will be said next week, will have to bounce back,
Last half hour embarrassing, shouldn't happen at any level but especially not at this level with the players we’ve got and the squad we have got. Not acceptable way to lose. Not acceptable for fans, club or individual players. If any of our players don't feel that way then in wrong business. No way Brighton should be beating us by 5 goals, they didn't have to work hard enough for some of their goals.
Been pointing out individual errors blah blah, but been saying it for weeks. but it’s not good enough.
At HT I said a piece, manager said a, err [checked himself and didn't finish sentence], but has to mean something, has to be acted upon.
Can accept a defeat if we’ve done everything you possibly can, think did that for 60 minutes, but after that dont think we have.
(when asked if he liked the response to the words at half time) How can anyone respond to that? After a performance like that, not one person who can stand up and answer back. Couldn’t tell you what the response was at HT, not interested in the response. Only response that can be given now is on the pitch.
(when told that had never been seen this hurt before) You’re probably right, embarassed to be stood there. Part of my role now next week is to get lads to respond and to bounce back.
(How do you do that?) We’ll see. Will see how the lads react on Monday, As professionals and people need to see how everyone comes together. For those that don't, am sure they won't be there to respond on saturday. Up to us to bounce back. Always said all along that have a lot of good characters at the club, but need to prove it again.."
But you really need to listen to it to take in the tone of the piece. Wouldn't say it sounds a happy camp.
