Overwhelmingly what Hughton proved to me is that football managers are just as dim as football players and that with Hughton the 'niceness' is used as a positive and it means sweet FA. We all cling to some small hope that there is something special - it rarely exists. Hughton wasn't going to keep us up - but because of the timing of his sacking, and the crass replacement, we will speculate for ever (much like pants with Roeder).
