This is true, but as I said vvv maybe this is the level we're at - needing a manager who

can motivate mediocre players and get them over-achieving. Lambert did that very well indeed for a couple of years, but in my view realised premier league wasn't sustainable with that squad. He thought he could be a proper premier league manager, with a squad of star players, and McNally told him there was no chance at Norwich. So he baked, but he had underestimated where that game was really at technically and in terms of managing big egos, and came badly unstuck.
