He is crap and should be nowhere near the first team, but I don;t understand why people get so annoyed with his clapping. It's not patronising - he's thanking the supporters for following the team - despite most of them not being worthy of the term. He isn't being self congratulating but merely trying to empathise with the fans and realising that if he were a fan, he would like to be acknowledged by the players.

He isn;t a great footballer but his clapping is not really something to chastise him for.
