The Madejski is a well designed modern stadium with good acoustics, good views from everywhere, and enough legroom for those of us more than five foot two in height. Well look, I'm trying to think of something positive to say. The Bovril was quite nice too (driving, so no beer).
As I settled down in my seat with my Bovril (driving), I swear I overheard some young lad no more than about twelve years old say "that can't be right - three in the middle against this lot? With their wingers?".
If he could work it out why couldn't our "management"?
What, exactly, has Paul McVeigh got to do to get to play ninety minutes (let alone earn a new contract)? JJ looked sharp and always wanted the ball, which was nice to see, and Hendo did very well against Watford (or I thought so), but he didn't repeat
Did Gary Holt give Hughes the pictures of Worthy in the nude simultaneously blowing off a donkey and s**tting on Mark Oaten? There can surely be no other explanation for his continued involvement on the pitch.
Ulf's excellent report at User Posted Link gives a brilliant player-by-player so rather than try to emulate it I shall move straight to proposed solutions.
As has rightly been pointed out, Delia led Huckerby on to the pitch when he signed for us as well as saying "we need a twelfth glass out here" that time. But I don't think publically sacking the current "management" - apparently they did a Christmas do for the first team plus reserves at Woodfordes, only to find they'd left the pint glasses at home - goes anywhere near far enough.
Just off the road to Caister near Fleggburgh is a wildlife sanctuary.
They have two tigers.
I think you can see where I'm going with this one...
