I don't think that the fact that it's worked in the past stops new managers being nervous about doing it (that is, organising the whole team around Wes, and so relying on him to perform).

Indeed, even managers for whom it's worked in the past seem to get nervous about doing it. I think it still feels like a gamble for them. Especially when they're under pressure, and they know what system they really like playing, and has worked for them in previous jobs. When they didn't have a Wes.
