I feel sorry for anyone who cares about English football though.

He's a multi millionaire on a three million a year contract and he wrecked it for a relatively small sum.

Everything would have been salvageable with enough humble pie except offering to help them get round the rules.

In many less well paid fields that would lead to criminal prosecution or at least a lifetime ban from working in the industry. Imagine a politician caught offering to get round parliamentary rules etc for money or a taxman etc
