A good midfield set up

would be to replicate the successful Arsenal one. Two attacking wide players who can score goals (Pires/Ljungberg) in Johansson and Huckerby and two ball winners in the middle (Vieira/Gilberto) in Safri and Etuhu (??). OK I know our players aren't remotely in the same league (literally) but our aims are lower and as a formation it makes sense and avoids the need for a goalscoring CM like Francis
