He is told something because he is trusted, and will then be guaranteed to get the story first when it's signed and sealed in return for his integrity
This is the way journalism works and always has done. The fact that there are now message boards and people like Hendrikus doesn't change that - it just makes "getting the story first" a little less important than it used to.
But let's not forget that while a couple of thousand people may view this or other NCFC sites during a day, 35,000 people still buy the Evening News and far, far more people will hear about a new signing via the newspaper than they will on here.
Just because we are on here doesn't mean all NCFC fans are. Some of them have outdoor jobs, some of them are not online, some of them are barred from these sites during the day, and some of them just don't want to come on here.
So the days of the newsapper are not dead just yet.
