Oh the irony-he doesn't like the power of the internet and its influence and growing popularity over the "old fashoned" printed media to which he is a slave to...
...then he goes and writes an intently personal and childish rant about it on the webpage of a printed newspaper & one which, no doubt, gets a multitude of hits from the link Ben has provided for it on this site.
I am staggered that whoever his bosses are at Archant have allowed him to make that article public, the lesser irony here being that he has whinged and wailed about personal attacks being made on various aspects of the running of our club, and, in doing so, made a personal attack on posters, posters on this site primarily, for daring to express an opinion and for having the temerity to hide behind their anonymity when doing so.
Well come on Mr Waghorn, get any one of your companies publications to get one of the us the priviliged personal space that you can occupy within their pages, and let us have our say every now and agaon, in print, and available for all to see. I'd be more than happy to include my name and a genuine E Mail address for you and all who would seem fit to reply to do so, the question is, do you have the courage -or, indeed, the authority- to make that possible?
You also seem vaguely troubled by the fact that several posters on here are as capable of writing good, accurate, and interesting pieces about the club in recent days, in the last week or so, there have been several exceptional posts and people have acknowledged that, myself included. When we can formulate and argue our own opinions, it means that we are not slaves to you and yours and your written word, sadly, but fortunately, you and your colleagues are not held in the thrall and respect that you once were for the "profession" of journalism, yes, we can all write, we can mostly do so as well as, and, in some cases, better than you, and, at the end of the proverbial day, you have no great or special talent, you are just another man, like us, but one who just happens to be in a fortunate position, one most of us could fill, do you resent that, I think you do, don't you?
And for you to automatically assume that none of us have access or contact with players or people closely connected with the football club, how do you know that, well, you don't, do you, perhaps the fact some of us are bothers you as well?
Your attack has greatly dimmed my opinion of you I am afraid, the "old school" of hack would not have been at all concerned by the "antics" of this on-line community, hell, they would not be swept from their pathhs by Governments and, in one case, MI5! However, if, to you, a few of us "youngsters" (how wrong and ill informed you are again) can so easily upset you, i suggest you seek an alternative form of employment where you might be less offended.
