They say its to make things clearer,

then make it so half the world will be more confused by offside.

People already seem to not know it's when the ball is kicked, not when it is received, that counts, so allowing the resulting free kick to be taken where it's received is only going to muddy the waters further.

Also, not forcing the injured player to leave the field if the opponent is sent off is half-arsed. Is he more hurt if the opponent only gets a booking, or is it fairer that the offending team is temporarily up a man if they didn't get one sent off? It's a good start, but they only did half the job.
