Don't worry about it, flying is fine really.

Until you've been flying in and out of regional 'airports' in puddle jumpers, during storm season. That's when you can worry about it.

Most bigger commercial aircraft are fine. You don't even really notice taking off anymore in the likes of the A380's. It's so rare that something happens.
