It's hard work at first, but it's worth it.

When I started watching the original series of Hollow Crown (adaptation of the Henriad) a few years back I really did struggle - it took an uncomfortable level of concentration to stick with it. But after you've been watching them for a while, there comes a point where you no longer need to concentrate and you realise that you 'get it' - it's then just as easy as watching something in contemporary English. So I think it's just that initial effort that is a big barrier for many - people just don't have the patience, which is understandable.
