As I understand it the key regulations or "red tape" that the out campaign are saying should go are those that govern businesses that trade with the EU (i.e. exporters) but which all other businesses have to adhere tomeaning they have to adhere to standards or procedural requirements that are largely irrelevant to them.

Any important legislation governing workers rights, environmental standards etc which have flowed from EU law is already enshrined in UK law (which in many cases goes further than the EU Directives in terms of its protections - and in many cases we had our own laws which pre-dated the EU ones) and would need to be repealed by Parliament. Whether or not the UK Parliament choses to do that will be up to the Government and Parliament of the time who will be answerable to their electorate. That's the way it should be. If they make unpopular decisions then they will be voted out. The notion that the act of "leaving the EU" will see these protections removed is false.
