It was very moving
Peter Jones was the main commentator (why was it R2? Did 5live not exist then?) and he was excellent. It made one wince, knowing what one knows now, to hear them all assuming that it was hooliganism and making references to Heysel. (Peter Jones even said that Emlyn Hughes had walked out of the commentary box because he'd been there at Heysel and said he couldn't take any more.)
The "best" bit (if you can have best bits of the record of such a sad event) was a clip of an interview with a GP, a Liverpool fan, who'd been trying to save people on the pitch. The strength and dignity of that man was amazing. There was quiet fury in his voice as he said that there was no defibrillator in the entire ground and he'd been handed an oxygen cylinder which was empty. "It's a disgrace", he said.
