in the past once the weekend was over you could pretty much forget about football until the next game came around. Now you can go over and over it all week with sports channel coverage and forums like this and because it is 'with you' every day it makes it seem that much more important and harder to keep it in perspective.
Also the TV channels and internet have to talk about something, which means a lot of over-analysis and blowing some aspects of the game out of proportion. Yes, tactics are a factor but football is still essentially about whether players can kick the ball to players on their own team or into the net better than the opposition. It's not some intellectual masterclass conducted by tactical guru managers.
