Hell no.
I won't give up until we are in Villa's position and it's impossible!
I watched the game in a pub in Brighouse until a Sunderland supporter (very vocal) came in and started watching it as well, with 20 minutes to go he said "If I was a Norwich fan I'd feel hard done by as we've got away with a few here", I made him aware I was a Norwich fan, and he said "It's true we (Sunderland) have been very lucky today" I said "Nope, we've been almost as s**t as the ref" He wasn't confident of staying up, someone has to and we are in pole position at moment. they have the hardest run in!
I would be horrified if we went down and annoyed that we'd blown such a great chance, with Villa being awful and playing Newcastle and Sunderland at home along with the Jerome's Everton miss, the WHU home and away game and the Liverpool game, not to mention Man City away, but would it be the end of the world?
The premiership isn't as strong as people make out, no one beats the highest defeat anymore (Who holds that record?), Villa have the worst squad ever yet are ahead of Derby's record low point tally, Newcastle have outspent the Bundeslig yet are in more trouble than us, We would lose Redmond and Brady and Klose, but we'd have the Murphy's, Maddison, Toffolo and young league two player of the year Godfrey coming in - A year in championship may help them and us. We might not come straight back up, but I'd rather that than over spend and be a Bradford, Portsmouth, Blackpool, yes the wage bill is probably stopping us from being in the Premier league, but that's better than going into Administration. People are wanting us to get a Billionaire owner and yes it helps some clubs, but for every Chelsea and Man City there are a Leeds, Blackpool, Blackburn, Villa. Yes the TV money will make a gap, but again how big? These TV deals don't seem to have helped Villa, Fulham and Wigan who all had years and years of them - Everton aren't that far ahead of us.
I still want us to stay up and I feel we can do this. However I feel the club put too much pressure on Saturdays game, clappers, inflatable canaries, wheeling Goss out, none stop building up in papers, while Sam probably just said to his player's get out there and give them a good kicking.
Sorry Rant over and very rushed.
