I don;t think there was any lack of effort today or suggestion they have downed tools, I

just think we inexplicably tried to play with a team and in a style that entirely played into Sunderland's hands. we needed to trust our better technical players to do their thing not turn it into a kick and rush, scrappy affair with no midfielders capable of putting their foot on the ball and retaining possession for any length of time.
