... as for the scapegoat for the actual crowd, that still seems to be Henderson rather than Hughes - a lot of people do seem to be won over by Hughes' histrionics.
I've never said that Hughes is the worst player ever to play for the club - although I would say that pound for pound, I think he is one of the poorest signings in the last ten years or so, certainly since John Deehan's tenure - and we've certainly got worse players now.
But I stand by my point that a rapport must be established first and foremost through performances that are not just passionate but technically accomplished, as with Ashton or Huckerby or Bellamy or Eadie, for example. Once he's done that, then (as far as I'm concerned) he can clap all he likes.
