According to Chris Lakey on edp 24

the club haven't revealed how much of the 4 million profit on Ashton is avaliable for new players. I thought the profit was 5.5 million, seems to be shrinking all the time. Surely every penny of that 5.5 million should be allocated to transfers, even if some of the money was taken from the parachute payments we have spent bugger all else so it should be respent on new players.
