NORWICH City will today match Cardiff City's ?3.5m valuation of striker Cameron Jerome.
England Under-21 international Jerome is top of the Canaries' wanted list and they now have cash available after the ?7.25m sale of Dean Ashton to West Ham.
A source at Norwich says they want Jerome to link up again with Peter Thorne and spark a promotion charge.
Norwich are set to ring Ninian Park today offering ?2m down plus up to ?1.5m in add-ons for appearances, promotion and England appearances.
The financial negotiations will be carried out by phone with Cardiff owner Sam Hammam in the Lebanon, while manager Dave Jones flies to Portugal with the team and Peter Ridsdale stays in South Wales.
Ashton is having his medical today, while Norwich will be keen to press ahead with a Jerome deal as the January transfer window closes on January 31 - only eight days away.
Any deal is unlikely to be completed quickly and Jones predicts a 'hectic last few days' of ins and outs.
