Whats worse: Current era or Chase era - discuss

Chase times:
We were a established top flight team which then sold all our best players, got relegated and became an average old division 1 team.

Now:
We were relegation candiadates (and knew it), finally spent money on a decent striker half way through a season to try and stay up, but then got relegated in the must gutless way ever. We have now become an average championship side, sold our star striker for ?7m and are now linked heavily to an unproven youngster for a pitiful ?1m as a replacement for our star.

Verdict:
Granted thats fairly simplified and Chase f**ked us up big time. Also I think Delia and Worthy have done great things for the club. But so did Chase (europe, 3rd in the league).

Worthy over the last year has got us relegated and turned the team into a pile of s**t.... a club in our division that has spent as much as we have over the last 12 months should at least get 3rd or 4th place in the league... so why isn't it happening.

Onto my point - things might not be as bad as the times of Chase, but it isn't far off. Remember when we were linked with Ferdinand when we sold Sutton and never splashed the cash? Isn't that happening now - does anyone really think we will spend all the Ashton money (I'm 99% sure we will either be lied to again and be told that we can only spend the profit or we don't have as much money as people think because of agents fees or such crap)

So, overal, should we be demonstrating? Are things so different now that we are happy with the current situation? Why aren't we shouting Worthy / Delia out? Why aren't we protesting to at least half the levels that were seen during the Chase days?
