The signing of Jerome would probably be as good as it gets to show the right sort of ambition to keep the likes of Huckerby at the Club. If, as current reports suggest, Hucks has taken umbrage at the manner of Ashton's departure, and also decides to go with no quality replacement in sight, then we are indeed 'dead men walking'!
