But a friend of mine spoke to Delia in the Gunn club before the game yesterday. She said that a deal for Ashton was close but had not been agreed (correct at the time). We're definitely after Jerome, McSheffrey and Halford but have been told that other clubs have made bids and they want to wait until the very end of the window to try and get the best price.

Imo we should call their bluff and look elsewhere
