Ashton

We have only paid ?2.2m for Ashton so far - that is why the club are selling him now. We are due to play Crewe another ?500k after 50 appearances (he's made 46) and another ?250k after he gets 2 England caps. We would also have paid another ?600k if we had stayed up last year.

That means that even with Crewe's 20% of any profit, we are still making ?5m on him. LEt's just hope the ?8m deal is not as conditional as our bid from Crewe. (Wouldn;t mind a sell on clause though!)
