KINGS LYNN

Just been reading the debate about Kings LynnAnd here is my opinion

1. Kings Lynn is a town with a long history and still contains some of the best 14th & 15th century arciteture in this or any other country. The Customs Ho and some of the Merchants Houses off Kings Street are recognised as extremely important by historians
2. Because Lynn is at least 40 miles from any bigger towns/ cities the facilities are better than most for similar sized towns. The shopping centre, which has just been revamped, suffers a bit from 1960?s planning but is large and pedestrians with most large chains and many smaller shops represented. Sports facilities include LynnSport, the biggest single site sports complex in East Anglia, boasting a running track, 2 full sized Astroturf pitches, a sports barn, aerobics centre, gymnastics centre and indoor bowling green. It also has 56 grass soccer pitches and a recently opened indoor skate park. Other sports facilities include 10 pin bowling, sailing club, Southern League football team, national league basketball team and national speedway team.
3. The Lattice House and Tudor rose are two of the oldest pubs in the country, the TR in particular dating back to the 15th C. In addition there are numerous other pubs featured in good pub guides as well as 3 nightclubs and numerous restaurants.
4. The Lynn festival is one of the largest festivals in the UK and annually attracts international stars from the world of classical music, and literature. In addition Festival too has expanded to include many, more popularist events including free concerts in the large and impressive Tuesday Market Place. Kings Lynn also has the guildhall of St George and the Corn Exchange as venues for all types of entertainments.
5. The Walks park offers a large green space right on the end of the town centre
6. The Town is served by a main line station with 90 minute travel time to London.
7. The KES and Springwood High Schools were both high in the national performance tables.
8. Despite the excellent amenities Lynn is just a few minutes drive from open coutryside and the beautiful North Norfolk Coast

I could go on but have work to do. If all you can say is Lynn is S..T or make untrue comments about violent towncentres I suggest that you keep your uneducated opinions to yourself.

PS Thanks for the effort YY
