A couple of old codgers behind me in the upper N&P had decided within five minutes that he was going to be today's escape goat. He misplaced one or two passes under pressure and got a real going over, and it carried on for the rest of the game. The best line was 'I've been watching him in the last few games and I'm not convinced'. On his PL debut for us. Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed loudly cheering every positive intervention he made after that. What is so difficult about the idea of supporting players who pull on the shirt?
