Not sure he's worried about money - would be mega rich already plus he'll have insurance

Maybe he only signed the deal if a realistic, sensible buy out clause was inserted.
He then gets nice payrise now, goes to Real in the summer and Man U get ?15/20m for him rather than nothing.
He also then gets to play first team football between now and the euros.
