I understand from Mrs Git (who works in this field) that there's a fairly uniform pattern of shock, hurt, loss, anger, hit the bottom, small green shoots, hope, acceptance, moving on (or something like that). It's an inverted bell curve.
May I offer one serious piece of advice? Sort out the parting of ways through a family law mediator, not through a solicitor. A good mediator will help you reach a proper resolution at 10% or less of the ???? and 5% or less of the acrimony.
