Saturday feels like a really big game in terms of setting the tone for the rest of the

season.

We made a good start in terms of performances and for the first few weeks everything was pretty positive even if there were perhaps nagging doubts about the fact we did not have the haul of points from our first 3 games that the performances deserved.

Last week, however, saw a little of the positivity drift away with the abject display at Southampton and then a slightly disappointing transfer deadline day (in hindsight the window not as bad as it felt last week but the defence still a major worry).

We now have a home game against one of the teams against one of our likely relegation rivals and it feels rather pivotal in terms of the mood around the club moving forward. Play well and beat Bournemouth and all will be well again but get given the runaround at home with our dodgy defence making any more blunders and it feels like the fans could potentially turn quite quickly on the board for their failure to spend. Of course we won;t be down if we lose on saturday, just as victory won't mean safety is guaranteed but we really need to pull together on Saturday and spur the team on because if we go into the next few games with some good momentum there are points to be had. If in fighting starts and the atmosphere turns we will make it very difficult for ourselves to stay up.
