Maybe Olsson has suffered a setback, or there's a risk he might fall out again, which mean

s that during that time Brady will be left back and we need a left sided midfielder which Johnno most certainly was not. He did OK there in the champs but the Prem is a different story.

Dorrans, Hoolahan, Howson, Tettey, O'Neil, Mulumbu when fit should be enough in the centre of midfield. Redmond is of course Redmond, but then we have nothing really behind him. Winger wise we were short of cover even with Olsson back - only Brady and Redmond for both positions. Hopefully Jarvis can play both sides.

Striker, well I think CamJam will get there with a bit of competition. ThankGod is a bit of a mystery to me so could be the greatest striker we ever signed or the next Ricky, which is presumably why it is a loan. Regardless of his hissy fits I think the Prem is a step too far for Grabban. Honestly think Hooper has more Prem goals in him than Grabs so am secretly relieved we couldn't get him offloaded.

So basically yeah, I am disappointed that we couldn't bring in a proven, young, exciting goal machine but am far more concerned at the central defence which on paper has always looked competent to be honest, but it just happens far too often that one of them just has a complete brain fart at a crucial time. Not sure Bennett is ready for the Prem.

Then let's hope Wisdom can push Whittaker as a right back. Stil worried about central defence. I think I might have tried to sign two central defenders if I were AN although maybe he did. We don't seem to be lucky with those signings in recent years - we used to be great at buying central defenders, just like we were great at developing goalkeepers!

I dunno. The boys have shown that if we can score goals then we CAN compete at this level so let's hope they just keep going, CamJam starts banging them in with ThankGod waiting in the wings, or Mbokani comes in and surprises everybody by being a deadly predator from day one.
Then in January see if we can get a central defender or two and that Wisdom has developed into a great right back. Gonna be a long old season!

Good thing is that we have quite a few players who have something to prove - CamJam, Brady, Mbokani, Mulumbu, Hooper, Dorrans, Wisdom, Jarvis etc.
