Theo Walcott - 16 years old , played a handful of games in the championship , now touted as teh next big thing and supposedly on the verge of a big money transfer to one of teh big boys - where he will sit in teh reserves for 4 or 5 years no doubt , play the odd carling cup game and go out on loan to keep him sharp

there was a time not so long ago , where southampton would have kept him until he was in his early twenties , and he would then have moved to a mid ranking club ( Villa etc ) before teh big move to the big boys

it is a hell of a risk to pay ? 10m for a 16 year old and to me smacks of " we are going to et him , so you can;t "attitude

surely the boy needs a decent season or two before he can be seriously considered as a star - never even played in teh Premiership for gods sake
