we did the same with Iwan and Malky when we got promoted in 04', which in hindsight was probably a mistake, but I don't think Bradders is as influential on the team is either of those two.
On a personal level, it must knock you back mentally when you've knocked you pan in for a season, scored 15 and been voted POTS by the fans, then to be told, sorry you're not quite good enough now. But I guess that's the risk they take in becoming a professional footballer; the rewards are certainly better than most of us could ever dream of.
